It is a
vast
subject and we can only touch on it here, but we may whet you appetite
for more knowledge -
We hope so !
We have
used
homoeopathic treatments for many years with our dogs and were lucky
that our vet at the time used homoeopathy along with conventional
treatments. Our present vet also uses these treatments, but is still
learning its full usage.
Below I have noted
some of the more common remedies, however for anybody interested in
this subject I would recomend two books that are excellent reading and
reference :
| ARNICA | A pain killer, especially useful for dental extraction. Can also help with bruising. |
| BELLADONNA | For the treatment of mastitis. Also useful for ear inflammations where there is heat, pain and swelling. |
| CALENDULA | Used
topically, (lotion or ointment) to wounds and abrasions. It promotes
rapid healing and controls sepsis. |
| CHAMOMILLA | For teething problems. |
| CAULOPHYLLUM | Controls and aids uterine contractions, expulsions of the foetus, expulsion of the foetal membranes. |
| COCCULUS | Travel sickness. |
| URTICA | 30c dose to
bring a queen into milk thats failed to do so. 3c dose to take milk away. |
Before
using
homoeopathic remedies speak to someone who already uses them or find a
vet who practices in
homoeopathy, as you
will require to know how to handle the remedies, dosages and how often
to give.
Finally,
we buy
most of our homoeopathic remedies from Freeman's Of Glasgow.
Their web-site
contains a lot of information and advice. Click on the name to access
